The week of March 22, 2021
A pair of recurring characters are back on the scene, this week. Scarlett Fernandez is set to make an appearance as Charlotte Cassadine, Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) beloved daughter. The character was last seen in December, when Charlotte paid a visit to her comatose mother, Lulu (Emme Rylan), before she was moved to a long term care facility.
Matt Trudeau is also set to pop back in as Dr. Lucas Jones. Look for Lucas, who last aired on February 22, to lend his support to Maxie (Kirsten Storms) in scenes that will air on Wednesday, March 24.
Please note that air dates may be subject to change.
General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
Bringing the Drama
More than five decades of gripping drama as well as love in the afternoon have kept this ABC daytime soap on the air and winning Daytime Emmys. It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
