The week of October 4, 2021
General Hospital viewers were stunned when a new Nikolas Cassadine suddenly turned up on the soap. Adam Huss, best known for playing Josh Kantos on the Starz crime drama Power, temporarily stepped into the role for undisclosed reasons on Wednesday, September 29. Huss has also appeared on Passions (as Miguel’s imposter in 2006) and The Bold and the Beautiful (as Lance in 2002). The very next day, Marcus Coloma was back in the part.
Erik and Theo Olson, the twins who have played Michael’s (Chad Duell) son since 2018, are out. The tykes are moving to Paris with their family, following their father’s new career opportunity. Kyler and Caleb Ends have taken over the part. If the kids look familiar, it’s because they previously played Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) son James on GH, as well as Jordan’s (Chrishell Stause) son David on Days of our Lives.
Although Sonny’s left Nixon Falls, Joyce Guy hasn’t wrapped her run as Phyllis Caulfield. Look for the character to turn up again soon.

GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) many decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please its viewers.
