Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)?
Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles?
Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The Week of August 13, 2018
Chandra Wilson, best known for her role as Dr. Miranda Bailey on Grey’s Anatomy, is heading to Port Charles, where she’ll be playing – you guessed it, a doctor.
She previously guested on the soap back in 2014, when she played one of Kevin’s (Jon Lindstrom) patients.
This time around, Wilson is playing marriage and family counselor, Dr. Linda Massey. Look for her character to be called in by Curtis (Donnell Turner) to help dissipate the tension between his bride-to-be, Jordan (Vinessa Antoine), and his aunt, Stella (Vernee Watson).
Meanwhile, the soap has found its new Jordan, hiring Briana Nicole Henry to take over for Antoine who is exiting the soap. Henry previously played Esmeralda on The Young and the Restless.
The role of Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) son, Cameron, has been recast again. Cade McWatt, who took over the role from Michael Leone and appeared onscreen in July, is already out. The character is now being played by William Lipton. The actor’s credits include the role of Alfred Thatcher in The Adventures of Thomasina Sawyer.
Lief Gantvoort is playing Carson, the brains behind Anna (Finola Hughes) and Finn’s (Michael Easton) abduction.
Meanwhile, Owen Wilson is portraying one of Carson’s henchmen; specifically, the thug who snatched Finn from the hospital elevator.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
