The week of June 21, 2021
Jeff Kober’s run as diabolical crime lord Cyrus Renault has come to a close. The character was escorted off to prison on June 16. Kober made his GH debut in February of 2020.
Cassandra James is headed back on the canvas as Dr. Terry Randolph on Thursday, June 24. The character is slated to be involved in a key storyline, as she fights for an important position at the hospital.
Kirsten Storm recently underwent brain surgery during a two-week GH production break. However, there’s been no official word from the soap regarding the status of her character, Maxie Jones. Namely, whether Maxie will be written off for a few weeks or the role will be temporarily recast, while the actress recovers. Stay tuned…

General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.

Current Soap Operas
