Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The week of April 26, 2021
Rumors are circulating that Kimberly McCullough is returning to the soap for another visit as Robert (Tristan Rogers) and Anna’s (Finola Hughes) daughter, Dr. Robin Scorpio Drake. Her appearance would likely be connected to the show’s upcoming special tribute to the late John Reilly, who portrayed WSB boss Sean Donely.
McCullough made a cryptic social media post about recently doing something “really cool that involved wearing make-up and heels all day.” She followed that up with a post saying she saw some old friends and “reminisced about an absent dear one.”

General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
Bringing the Drama
More than five decades of gripping drama as well as love in the afternoon have kept this ABC daytime soap on the air and winning Daytime Emmys. It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
