The week of May 3, 2021
Kelly Thiebaud is heading off the canvas as Britt Westbourne, when her character goes missing, this week. But don’t worry, it’s only temporary.
The storyline twist was set in motion and Thiebaud got a two-week break from the show. She was all set to return but received a false positive COVID-19 test, and, due to protocol, had to stop working for 10 more days. Rather than recast Britt, the soap opted to push Thiebaud’s scenes until she could resume filming.
Stephen A. Smith is back as Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) security expert, Brick. Look for the character to help Carly (Laura Wright) transport Jason (Steve Burton) to safety. Smith last appeared on the soap this past week when Carly spoke with him about putting her plot in motion and he got to meet Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis).
Please note that air dates may be subject to change.
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
More than five decades of gripping drama as well as love in the afternoon have kept this ABC daytime soap on the air and winning Daytime Emmys. It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
