General Hospital
When word got out last week that “General Hospital” had cast young Jazmyn Skye as a little girl named Athena, the soap blogosphere began speculating that this new pint-sized character is actually a Cassadine.
Ever since Lulu (Emme Rylan)received an empty envelope at Helena’s (Constance Towers) will reading signifying she will find something missing, fans wondered if Lulu somehow has a child with Stavros Cassadine via in vitro fertilization.
While the story in which Stavros tried to harvest her eggs was not even two years ago, SORAS has a funny way of working on soaps and anything can happen. Plus, the decidedly Greek name Athena has caused many fans to connect the moniker to the Cassadines.
Soap Hub asked if you think Athena will indeed be related to the creepiest family in Port Charles, or if she might belong to another character. (After all, Jax is returning this summer and you never know what surprises he might bring.)
Out of about 5,500 votes, 82% expect another junior Cassadine to join young Spencer. As Lulu’s daughter (if that’s who she turns out to be), we will have yet another Spencer forced to have a Cassadine child against her will. With Lulu still hoping to give birth to the one frozen embryo she has left with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), the arrival of Athena just makes things all the more dramatic.
A much smaller 8% don’t think GH will go there, as the creep factor will be overwhelming even for the Cassadines. You think she has another connection to Port Charles and a Jax (Ingo Rademacher) connection is not too far-fetched.
The final 10% don’t even care. You feel some of current the kids on the show aren’t used enough (examples: Danny, Liz’s younger kids, Josslyn) and have no idea why GH would bring another child on and then possibly abandon her story just a few months later.
