Emme Rylan currently stars as Lulu Spencer on General Hospital, a role she has inhabited since 2013. However, Rylan has been on a few other soaps since starting her career, including The Young and the Restless and Guiding Light.

From where she was born and raised to the surprising thing she shared in common with a movie co-star, here are five fast facts to know about General Hospital star, Emme Rylan.

In The Beginning
Rylan was born on November 4 in Providence, North Carolina, but her birth name is actually Marcy Faith Behrens. She decided to change her name in 2009 for acting purposes. She attended high school in Tyrone, Pennsylvania.

Acting Debut
Rylan’s professional acting debut came in 2005 when she guest-starred on Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh as Allie for one episode. The next year, she booked the role of Lizzie on Guiding Light. In NYC, she roomed with fellow soapers, Mandy Bruno Bogue (ex-Marina on Guiding Light) and Alexandra Chando (ex-Maddie on As the World Turns).

Such A Yarn
Rylan has learned to make the most of her downtime on the set by getting crafty with BFF co-star, Kirsten Storms (Maxie). The two often share pictures of each other on Instagram knitting in-between scenes. Ryan even has her own Etsy store where she sells the beautiful things she makes.

Something In Common
Rylan was cast in Bring It On: All Or Nothing, the third Bring It On movie, as Winnie back in 2006. Talk about a small world, she starred in the film with Hayden Panettiere, who also played Lizzie on Guiding Light. Also, Panettiere would go on to star in Nashville opposite Jonathan Jackson, who played Lulu’s big brother Lucky on GH.

Getting Personal
Rylan has been with her fiancé, Don Money, since 2007. He is a film editor and an actor. The couple has three children together, a 9-year-old son named Jackson, a 7-year-old son named Levi, and a 2-year-old daughter named Dakota. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
