Genie Francis currently stars and is best known for playing the iconic character Laura Spencer on General Hospital. However, she has also been in other soaps such as Days of Our Lives, All My Children, and The Young and the Restless.

Francis was born in Englewood, New Jersey. Her parents, Ivor Francis and Rosemary Daley, were both actors. She grew up in Long Island, New York, and California with her older brother, younger brother, and half-sister and started acting when she was a teenager.

Business Owner
Francis was also a business owner for many years. She owned a home store called The Cherished Home that was located in Maine. The store sold home accessories and cottage furnishings. However, Francis sold the store in 2012 because of her busy schedule on The Young and the Restless.

Mental Health Struggle
Francis revealed she suffered from a bout of depression after her General Hospital character, Laura Spencer, was dropped to recurring status back in 2018. She managed to work her way through it and was also brought back to GH with a full-time contract and fans fought for the most

Emmy Winner
Francis has been nominated for four Emmy Awards over the course of her career, but she won her first for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007 thanks to her role on GH.

Getting Personal
The actress met her husband, Jonathan Frakes, while they were filming the television miniseries Bare Essence.
