Lindsay Hartley is an American actress best known for her starring role in NBC’s Passions, a soap opera where she played the attention-starved, slightly deluded, and in love with the concept of love Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald Crane.

Along with her work across the daytime dial (she’s also played characters on Days of our Lives and All My Children), Harley is also known for appearing in episodes of CSI and Smallville, as well as her contributions to the Lifetime network.

And now she’s temporarily assuming the part of General Hospital’s Samantha McCall. From her early days to her incredible vocal talents, here are five fast facts about the actress.

Who Is Lindsay Hartley?

Hartley was born on April 17, 1978, in Palm Springs, California to a father who hailed from an Ashkenazi Jewish family and a mother of Greek, Italian, and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry.

She’s Living A (Pre) Teenage Dream

Hartley spent her youth competing in beauty pageants and acquiring several titles including Young Miss America – an achievement gained while she was still a pre-teen. At age 14, she landed her first professional role: Dorothy in the Mccallum Theater’s production of The Wizard of Oz.

Songbird

Hartley’s vocal talents have netted her a number of accolades – including The Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Award (Vocal/Opera) – and the opportunity to work with a plethora of music makers including Beck, Hootie and the Blowfish, Jackie Jackson, and Dion DiMucci.

Television For Women, By Women

After landing a number of featured roles in movies made especially for the Lifetime network, Hartley decided to join forces with the producing giant. In 2017, she presented them with an original script – Deadly Exchange – which was later filmed with her in a starring part.

Since that time, she’s penned a further five scripts – which have all been filmed – and she made her directorial debut in 2020 with the thriller Mommy Is A Murderer, which stars former GHer, Bree Williamson (ex-Claudette).

Getting Personal With Lindsay Hartley

Between May 1, 2004 and summer 2012, Hartley was married to fellow performer Justin Hartley whom she met on the set of Passions where he played Fox Crane, one of the men that Theresa pursued. The couple has one daughter: Isabella Justice (born July 3, 2004). General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
