The Return of Faison: Does General Hospital Need More Evil?

The Faison family keeps growing on General Hospital (GH). Even when he’s not around.

There’s his baby mama, Obrecht (Kathleen Gatti). There’s Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), who keeps popping in and out of Port Charles. And if Nathan (Ryan Paevey) really is Faison’s (Andres Hove) son, like the DNA tests suggest (and when has one of those ever been inaccurate on a soap?), then he’s about to become a grandpa!

And, of course, you have to include Faison’s multi-decade obsession, Anna (Finola Hughes). She may not be family. She’s a heck of a lot more than that.

So with everyone, including Sonny (Maurice Benard), Jason (Steve Burton), and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), talking about the overly dramatic super-villain (they think he has yet another son — in addition to Nathan), is it time for him to return to the canvas? Here’s what almost 7,000 of you think.

Keep Away
May God bless and keep Fasion… far away from us, quote 56% of you. Faison is just too menacing a figure.

You prefer your villains to be basically harmless. They talk a good game, but, in the end, they don’t really do anything interesting. Like Sonny. You’re even willing to put up with the likes of Julian (William DeVry). At least he has nice abs. But a villain who can actually get things done? Pass.

Bring Him Home
Exactly, shout 43% of the audience. All the current Port Charles villains are so busy navel-gazing and angsting and anti-hero-ing, that there’s no one who actually enjoys their badness, anymore!

Faison is a villain who wallows in it. He thrills at ruining other people’s lives. That’s what separates the fun soap opera villains from the brooding, boring ones.

Bring Faison back and let him wreak havoc throughout the whole town. The cast has gotten a little bloated lately. Maybe he can cull the herd. You all have plenty of suggestions about who should be the first to fall at his hand.

General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
