General Hospital star Marc Anthony Samuel has used this crazy time in the world to reflect about life — and he tells Soap Hub all about it in this exclusive chat.

You’ve made your traditional Nurses Ball appearances; what production number of yours has been your favorite over the years?
I think for me, my first Nurses Ball will always be the best. It was a brand new experience, and shooting it with the cast was almost like summer camp!
Do you have a favorite performance of a castmate?
A couple of years back, Maura West [Ava] did a number that was absolutely fantastic!
Is there a song you’d love to stand front and center and do as your own solo at NB?
I’ve always loved John Lennon’s Imagine. It’s a beautiful song, and can really connect a lot of people.
What was your last day taping at General Hospital like before the shutdown; did you have any idea at the time that you’d not be back for a while?
I never take anything for granted, nor do I have any expectations for what’s next after I wrap on work. So every time I walk off of set after taping, I just rest in gratitude for having been able to do what I love and move on to the next gig.
Which of your co-stars did you keep in close contact with during the production shutdown at General Hospital?
Ryan Carnes [Lucas], Sonya Eddy [Epiphany], Vinessa Antoine [ex-Jordan], and Parry Shen [Brad].
Have you found any new hobbies or projects to work on?
I’ve been studying French, working on the house, and taking classes.
What was your last fun night out, before it all came crashing down?
I went to Catalina Island.
What’s the best advice your father ever gave you?
Stay focused.
What was your favorite way to spend the weekend, usually?
Quick trips to other cities, out of state, or dinner get-togethers at home.
What television show would fans be surprised you never miss?
Los Espookys on HBO.
What other riveting television do you watch?
I [watched] Lovecraft Country on HBO. I love Atlanta on FX, Barry in HBO is fantastic, Ted Lasso on Apple Plus is amazing, as well as the show Home on Apple Plus.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Toss up between Tokyo and Sydney.
What is your favorite sport to play?
Basketball
What did you miss more — live sporting events or going to movie theaters?
Sporting events.
What movie do you never get tired of?
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – and The Wiz.
What was your favorite television show when you were a kid?
