Josslyn has spent the last few months trying to prove she can handle life as a WSB agent on General Hospital, but getting kidnapped by a man pretending to be Nathan was probably not in the training manual. Now trapped beneath Wyndemere with Cassius Faison, who revealed himself as Nathan’s evil twin, Joss is stuck playing the most dangerous game possible: staying alive long enough to figure out how to outsmart him. Eden McCoy recently broke down the tense storyline, and it sounds like Joss is trying very hard not to let outright terror ruin her spy credentials.

Key Takeaways

  • Eden McCoy called Josslyn’s evil twin storyline a soap “bucket list item.”
  • She wanted Joss’ reaction to Cassius to feel genuinely terrifying, not over-the-top.
  • Joss is hiding her fear from Cassius while relying on her WSB instincts to survive.
  • Joss is now searching for weaknesses she can exploit to stay alive.

If You Can’t Beat ‘Em, Join ‘Em

McCoy told Soap Opera Digest that finally getting pulled into a classic soap evil twin story felt like a rite of passage. “Evil twins are such a soap trope, such an iconic subject matter, so it was cool to have that moment,” she explained. “To be the recipient of that reveal was really fun, kind of like a bucket list item for me personally.”

At the same time, she did not want Joss’ reaction to feel cartoonish just because the setup was pure soap chaos. “I really tried to stay in the mindset of, ‘Okay, if this is my life and I’ve been kidnapped by a real human being that I think I have a history with and it’s not him, that’s terrifying!’ ” she stated

That balance between fear and control is what defines Joss right now. McCoy further said Joss is trying not to let Cassius (Ryan Paevey) see how scared she really is because her instincts as an agent are already kicking in. Instead of panicking, she’s forcing herself to think strategically while trapped in a cell with a man who could snap at any second.

Change of Plans

Josslyn’s original strategy died the second she realized Nathan was never Nathan at all. Appealing to some hidden piece of goodness inside him no longer works when the man in front of her is Cassius Faison. McCoy explained that the concept is prevalent in Joss’ mind as she actively tries to find a weakness she can exploit.

“She needs to get information out of him, right?” the actress continued. “And she’s trained to pick up on people’s weaknesses and figure out where the opportunities are.” According to McCoy, Joss is basically running through mental spy flash cards in real time, trying to decide which tactic keeps her alive the longest.

At least the kidnapping setup looks surprisingly comfortable. McCoy laughed about the bizarre luxury of Joss’ prison cell, joking that it’s “an upscale gym.” Between the stocked kitchen, fresh clothes, and suspiciously cozy surroundings, this may be the only hostage situation in Port Charles history with better amenities than the Metro Court.
