Late last year on General Hospital, mafia princess Ava Jerome (Maura West) lost her precious daughter when the man she was courting brutally stabbed Kiki (Hayley Erin) to death.
It’s a long story but suffice it to say Ava had no idea that her lover was a stab happy serial killer; in fact, she thought she was dating the mans identical, and mentally stable, twin brother.
Since the mother and daughter were estranged at the time of Kiki’s passing — that tends to happen when young ladies sleep with their mother’s fella — Ava has spent the past few months desperate to make amends to her baby girl. But since Kiki has gone up to the upper room how is Ava suppose to make inroads you ask? Why hire a psychic to make contact of course!
Psychic medium number one was Sibley Gamble (Veronica Cartwright), a much sought-after spiritualist who had some hard truths for Ava. Kiki, she explained, is PISSED, and she wants nothing to do with her mother. And since Ava didn’t like that answer she did what any level headed person in her situation would do: she went and hired another psychic.
But spirit contactor number two had the same exact messages for mama bear. While it’s clear that Ava isn’t exactly pleased with her venture into the supernatural, Soap Hub wonders how you are feeling about all these shenanigans. Do you like all this psychic mumbo jumbo? Here’s how over 12,000 viewers voted:
Thumbs Down
Sibley and Chelsea (Jen Ray) really should have seen this coming. It came down to the wire. It was really close. But in the end, the nays have it. A little over 50% of you said that you just weren’t happy with this little dose of daytime hocus pocus.
A great many of you said that you weren’t happy with the way Kiki went out and you certainly don’t want to be reminded of that fact with this silly tale. And this storyline is an insult to the glory that is Ava Jerome. The Ava you know would never be taken in by these ladies with the gift of “sight” — no matter how deep her grief.
Harmless Fun
Still, there are 49% of you with a great sense of humor. This is after all the soap that introduced an alien from outer space. And it’s a soap that’s currently playing out a memory swapping storyline.
Lord knows that both these ghost whispers have been a hoot and they’ve certainly been right on the money so far. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
