The Creep Factor: Dr. Bensch, Leave Kiki Alone On General Hospital

We’ll always love Max Holden, that adventurous playboy who eventually settled down to married life and fatherhood with that spiritual believe in The Goddess, Luna. As Max, James DePaiva was every woman’s dream come true.

On General Hospital (GH), he plays a whole other kind of character and we haven’t been sure what to make of him from the start. While he still has that Max Holden twinkle in his eye, he is no Max.

Instead, he is Dr. David Bensch, the man who dated Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and tried to save her Thanksgiving dinner, and also the man who convinced Kiki (Hayley Erin) she’s medical school material.

Hasn’t he always been sweet–giving her advice, helping her get into the accelerated pre-med program, listening to her parental and personal woes. But, to Kiki he’s been like a father figure as she never really grew up with one.

It’s always seemed creepy to us and that either Dr. Bensch or Kiki had the wrong idea.

We always wondered if Dr. Bensch thought more of Kiki than just a student to mentor and we could tell Kiki never thought of him as much more than her mentor.

Well, Dr. B’s creep factor came out in full force yesterday when he suggested the two have some dinner and wine. Sure, Kiki’s over 21 and an adult who can make her own decisions and certainly have a few drinks. But, she is a very young adult, and Dr. Bensch, well, he’s not as young as Kiki.

And Kiki is clearly not that interested because just the idea of it made her run as fast as she could. And we cheered her on as she tried to make a beeline out of his office.

We certainly hope GH doesn’t go full-on stalker with this story because we want to love him. But, we have a feeling we’re not going to get our wish and our initial thoughts are “Ick, ick, ick.”
