There are few things on daytime as raucous as a good catfight. And often, those fights start with one simple slap across the face.
Stolen boyfriends, stolen babies, and some stolen snark remarks can all lead to a good ol’ smack.
To be most effective, of course, the slaps have to mean something. Fortunately, soaps create intense drama and characters become so angry that the only way to communicate their emotions is by winding up and giving it their best shot! Literally!

Some of daytime’s most memorable moments come when the smacks fly and the (occasionally well deserving) recipient reacts in shock or returns the favor. This often results in a melee of characters attempting to break things up or joining in as the tension boils over.
