General Hospital Carly Corinthos and Sonny Corinthos
Ever since General Hospital’s Carly Corinthos found out that her amnesiac husband developed feelings for Nina Reeves while he was presumed dead, Carly has been on the warpath, throwing Sonny Corinthos out of his own home and shrieking from morning till night.
Is Carly (Laura Wright) pushing him away on purpose? Could something deeper be going on here than we (and let’s face it, probably her as well) realize? What over 3,000 armchair psychologists are suspecting:
Carly just needs Sonny (Maurice Benard) to declare his love, 43% of you insist. It’s all she ever needs from anyone. Sure, she goes about it in the absolutely worst way possible and makes demands no normal person could meet.
But she had a rough life. She was raised by a loving, adoptive mother in the exact kind of home her biological mother wanted her to have when she gave her up to give Carly a better chance in life. And that’s a trauma no one can get over!
Sonny fell for Nina (Cynthia Watros)…and then he walked away from her for Carly. How is Carly supposed to trust a man like that, 30% of fans wonder? If he can give her up so easily, that means he could do the same to Carly. Or…something like that. The woman is not what one would call…reasonable.
Carly is still processing her feelings for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), 19% of the audience points out. She fell back in love with him (or some would say she let herself feel those feelings again) while Sonny was away, and his death means she never got the chance to deal with that development. Sonny can take a backseat while she does.
Sonny is a mess and Carly is better off without him, a last-place 8% dismiss. The guy was a mess before he got amnesia and turned into a less violent person. Why in the world should Carly keep pitching her wagon to this criminal star?
