Why Joss Is Being a Huge General Hospital Hypocrite About Sonny

Did you know that Sonny Corinthos was a criminal on General Hospital? Did you know that he does illegal things and even, gulp, hurts people? Poor, innocent Josslyn Jacks had no idea! She thought her stepfather was an innocent coffee importer…who kept being arrested and put on trial because, well, the good people of Port Charles were just jealous of his success, obviously.

General Hospital: As the Worm Turns

But then, Sonny (Maurice Benard) cheated on Joss’s (Eden McCoy) mother. He deliberately got amnesia, and then he deliberately fell for another woman, and then he deliberately made it so that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) married Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), which caused the end of their marriage, and now Joss is shocked, shocked — just shocked, we tell you! — to learn that Sonny does illegal things.

GH: Out To Get You

But, don’t worry, fair fellow citizens, Joss is here to protect truth, justice, and the American Way. While only a few months ago, Joss was furious with boyfriend Cameron Webber (William Lipton) for so much as thinking that hitman Jason (Steve Burton) might have murdered Cam’s stepfather, she now has a recording of Sonny beating up a man, and she is taking it straight to the police! Criminality like this must not be allowed to stand!

General Hospital: Emotional Support

And it’s not just Joss who is oozing hypocrisy these days. Her big brother, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), is also shocked to hear that their family was involved in organized crime. (This after he was in a coma and missed his entire adolescence due to being shot in the head during crossfire.)

Now that Sonny doesn’t worship Carly anymore, her children cannot believe how awful the man is and will stop at nothing to see him punished. Until, that is, the next time they need him to fix a problem for them. And then it will be all is forgiven…again.
