Why Drew Cain Deserved To Be Let Out of Prison

It was clear that Drew Cain would be out of Pentonville sooner rather than later on General Hospital. And he absolutely deserved to be. After all, his only crime was breaking the law, and the only reason he was sent to prison was because he was caught. If neither of those things were true, he’d be free as a bird, like he deserves. So what was the best reason for him to go free? Other than Carly wanting it, of course. That goes without saying.

Drew Cain: Lazy Town

Serving your full term is for the birds. That’s why no one in Port Charles ever does it. Everyone gets out on a technicality, so Drew (Cameron Mathison) deserved to be, as well. He saved Cyrus’s (Jeff Kober) life in prison. And Cyrus is walking around free now. The least he could do was pull some strings for his old bar bro and make it so Drew could join Cyrus in the outside world. That would have been a great way to do it.

Big Man of the Big House

How many times has Sonny (Maurice Benard) been convicted? (Well, not as many times as he deserved to be, but that’s a topic for another post.) And, every time he’s sent to jail, Sonny gets out within days. Either he’s saving the Governor’s daughter, or being locked up makes him totes sad.

And no one should have to be in prison if it makes them sad! Sonny knows that being sent up the river is no fun, so he should have pulled strings for the guy currently keeping Carly (Laura Wright) out of Sonny’s hair, so Drew could join Sonny in the outside world. That would have been a great way to do it.

Judge Not

Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) used to be a lawyer. But then she was disbarred. So now she doesn’t have to follow the law anymore. Which is freeing. And fun. Alexis was wise to use her newfound freedom to get Drew his. She pulled strings — also known as blackmailing a judge — so Drew could join her and the other Port Charles criminals in the outside world. If they deserve it, then so did Drew. See, that was a great way to do it.
