Will Anna Devane fall in love again?
Anna Devane has a lot more on her mind these days than romance, as General Hospital has made clear. She had a perfectly good reason for shooting Valentin’s daughter, Charlotte. But that does tend to cast a pall over one’s love story. As does finding out that Valentin could have prevented the shooting, if he’d done that honesty thing which he claims he is now totally into. So what will happen next to Anna’s heart?
Fans have been noticing the chemistry between Anna (Finola Hughes) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) for quite a while now. But she was with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), and he was with Sam (Kelly Monaco). Valentin is gone — for now — but Sam remains in play. Still, they’ll never be the loves of each other’s lives. And the chemistry between Anna and Dante is still there.
For reasons we can’t quite figure out, Anna has turned to Sonny (Maurice Benard) in her time of need, instead of…almost anybody else whatsoever. And since it’s a Port Charles law that all women must fall for the dimpled don eventually, we guess it’s Anna’s turn. Maybe Sonny reminds her of her true love, Duke (Ian Buchanan). He was a mobster, too, so…you know.
Anna and Robert (Tristan Rogers) haven’t been romantic in this century. Not for decades. But he was her first love, and is the father or her their daughter, Robin (Kimberly McCullough). (Thank God, Peter August has been erased from her maternal line.) So if Anna is destined to fall back on something familiar, Robert would at least make her original nuclear family complete.
But, in the end, all of the above discussion is moot. Because Anna and Valentin will find their way back to each other. As soon as Valentin gets that brat of his under control. Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) broke them up, but it’s possible that deprogramming her could bring them back together. As a united front, instead of enemies, for the long haul.
