Something Is Just Not Right About GH’s Josslyn Jacks and Dex

It’s clear that General Hospital wants to turn Josslyn Jacks and Dex Heller into the next big young star-crossed love story, but there doesn’t seem to be anything star-crossed or loving about this pairing. In fact, there is a lot that is off here that needs to be fixed fast.

General Hospital: Does Josslyn Jacks Feel Love Or Lust?

There is no denying that Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is extremely physically attracted to Dex (Evan Hofer). She couldn’t keep her eyes off his half-naked body at the Metro Court pool last summer, and now she can’t seem to stay out of his bed — or at least off of his couch, as the case may be and often is.

We certainly do not see her truly having feelings for Dex, a man she barely knows, and we are not sure what kind of feelings he even has for her. The first complimentary thing he said to her was to tell her she was hot when he was delirious with a fever, which again goes back to the idea that there is nothing between Josslyn and Dex except for sex. They have never gone on a date, didn’t really have to fight to be physically together, and had barely any build-up at all until we started seeing them having sex in almost every episode they appear in together.

When Josslyn and Dex are not having sex, they are talking about Sonny (Maurice Benard). Working for Sonny, bringing down Sonny, being grateful for Sonny saving Dex, and hating Sonny for no longer wanting to be married to Josslyn’s mom. Heck, Dex even made Sonny a gourmet meal of chicken piccata when all he could scrounge up for Josslyn was some grilled cheese after — you guessed it — sex. That’s a really deep relationship they have going there.

Who Is Dex Heller?

Then, we have to ask Josslyn, what the heck do you even know about this man who you dumped sweet and caring Cameron Webber (William Lipton) to be with? She definitely knows a lot about Cam because Joss has known him her entire life, but all she has learned so far about Dex is that he was in the service, he likes football, and he wants to learn how to cook better. She knows nothing about his family, where he is from, past relationships, just NOTHING.

When she first slept with him, she didn’t even know he has been working for her brother Michael (Chad Duell) the whole time he’s been in Port Charles because Michael also hates Sonny for no longer wanting to be with his mommy. How is this a relationship? Where is the love? Where is the honesty? Where is the romance? Where are those true longing looks and not just lustful looks? Where is anything that a young couple should have if they are going to be an “it” couple? With Joss and Dex, it just doesn’t seem to be there.

Josslyn even said it herself when she learned that Dex was only allegedly working for Sonny and instead was working to infiltrate his organization. “What else is there I don’t know about you?” A lot, Josslyn, a lot. And that’s the crux of this entire new couple problem.
