Everybody knows that Robert Scorpio and Anna Devane used to work for the World Security Bureau, an international organization unique to General Hospital.
Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner) left Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and his daughters to work for them, and Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) somehow wormed his way in. So we have to wonder exactly what the WSB stands for these days.
But, back in the day, we knew that the WSB stood for truth, justice, and the American way. Even the agent we loved best, Robert (Tristan Rogers), was actually Australian. Robert and his English wife, no, not that one, the other one: Holly Scorpio (Emma Samms), were hot on the trail of the evil undercover agent from the DVX (we have no idea what that stood for, but we assume we were supposed to hear “devious” every time it was muttered).
And who was that mystery man representing “the other side?” Why, none other than the husband of Holly’s best friend, Celia Quartermaine. He was pretending to be a mild-mannered American named Grant Putnam. But his real name was… drum-roll, please… Andrei! Which made it pretty clear whose side he was on.
Meanwhile, another WSB agent was working in Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) casino – yeah, Luke used to run a casino on The Haunted Star. Connie hid a circle known as The Prometheus Disc, which held the power to blow up an entire city, among the poker chips in Luke’s club. And now it was a hunt to see who would find it first. Our side… or the bad guys?
Oh, and did we mention that this was also during a time when Luke and Robert were fighting over Holly, and Connie was Robert’s ex… who was sleeping with Luke. So don’t worry, this battle of West versus East had plenty of soapy goodness in it, too!
