Carly Keeping A General Hospital Secret From Willow Feels Familiar

On General Hospital, Carly Corinthos is justifying her decision not to tell Willow Tait about Nina Reeves being Willow’s biological mother by insisting that Willow doesn’t want to know the truth. (Or, like Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men, she can’t HANDLE the truth!)

Willow is still mourning Harmony (Inga Cadranel), the woman she grew up thinking was her mother. Sure, Willow (Katelyn McMullen) had lots of complaints about the live Harmony’s parenting (that whole pimping her daughter out to a cult leader little snafu). But Dead Harmony was a Maternal Saint!

Why would Carly (Laura Wright) upset poor, fragile Willow by telling her the woman she hates, the evil Nina (Cynthia Watros) who is selfishly fighting for access to Willow’s adopted son, Wiley, is actually Willow’s birth mom? (This makes her Wiley’s grandmother twice over!)

Morally Right

Carly knows how traumatic meeting your biological mother is. When Carly first met Bobbie Spencer (Jaclyn Zeman), Carly was so traumatized that she felt compelled to seduce Bobbie’s husband and pass off baby Michael (Chad Duell) as his son. So, she wouldn’t want to put Willow in that position.

But is Carly’s stance that keeping Nina’s secret from her because Willow doesn’t really want to know remind anyone else of another secret kept?

No, not the Carly not telling Bobbie she was her daughter when they first met. Not even the Carly lying about Michael’s paternity…more than once. We’re talking about Nina keeping the truth from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) about who he really was…because Sonny didn’t really want to know.

Yeah, the secret that Michael took Nina to court over! Though we’re still not sure what law was broken – beyond angering Carly. We really, really hope that when the truth ultimately comes out and Carly plays the ‘ you didn’t want to know’ card, Nina really lets her have it…all the way to the courtroom!
