A Critic’s Review Of General Hospital: Surprised, Disillusioned & Culpable

When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.

General Hospital: The Critic’s POV

I have to admit that there were a few scenes this week that genuinely took me by surprise. First and foremost, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) admits that her pal Carly (Laura Wright) wasn’t exactly innocent where the charge of insider trading is concerned. And what’s more, she didn’t plan on throwing away her marriage just because Ned (Wally Kurth) told the truth — not that he did rat Carly and Drew (Cameron Mathison) out, mind you, but still.

And then there was Carly actually admitting culpability. Wonders never will cease.

I was also surprised to see Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) finally achieve rapprochement, but that might have more to do with that particular plot point being ninety million years old and me having convinced myself that it would never be resolved in any suitable fashion.

Turns out fans can have nice things, but only after they’ve grown disillusioned and, ultimately, uninterested.

* Nice [or perhaps not so] to see that his near-death experience hasn’t changed Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) one iota.

* Oh, how I long to invest in the Davis sisters’ quandaries but given that both roles have now been recast [whether warranted or not], it’s going to take some doing.

* You Win Some: Jordan (Tanisha Harper) finally got her due from Portia (Brook Kerr)...You Lose Some: But she’d [clearly] much rather have the man that they both love.
