When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.
Man, the writers (whether they be the interim ones or Chris and Dan/Dan and Chris) just aren’t going to stop till they have Kristina (Kate Mansi) pregnant with Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ’s (Tajh Bellow) are they? It clearly doesn’t matter that the audience could give two figs, that the recast roles have all but guaranteed zero investment. Somebody in that camp is chomping at the bit to get the story told, and tell the story they shall. Thank the Universe for the fast-forward button!
* Did hearing the words “Detective Briscoe” make anyone else nostalgic for mid-’90s Law & Order?
* Far be it from me to correct General Hospital‘s continuity advisor, but the Quartermaines have indeed had a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving “since the ’90s.” The family partook of the bird in 2007 (with pizza on the side).
* Having already made clear where she ranks in relation to his priorities, Drew (Cameron Mathison) now wants to send Scout to boarding school? The poor girl’s already out of mind. Does she really have to be out of sight as well?
* I swear, if Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) doesn’t say yes to Chase (Josh Swickard), and the plot is instead dragged on for weeks and months on end…..
* I’m sorry, but on what planet would Carly (Laura Wright) host Ava (Maura West) for Thanksgiving? Similarly, on what planet would Ava actually attend a Carly-hosted Thanksgiving?
* Of all the crimes that Sonny (Maurice Benard) has committed, is the worst parking his vehicle across two separate spaces? The brute!
* On the one hand, Anna (Finola Hughes) has every right to tear a strip off of Nina (Cynthia Watros). On the other, Peter August.
* So, Aunt Stella (Vernee Watson) is back in London…presumably picking up her offscreen romance with what’shisname where they left off.
* Wasn’t Mason (Nathanyael Grey) supposedly already transported to Pentonville? Guess they needed another viable perpetrator just in case they decide to forgo revealing Cyrus (Jeff Kober) as Austin’s (Roger Howarth) assassin. (And before any of you start with, “But he was handcuffed to a bed and a guard was posted outside his room,” I’ll kindly remind you of All My Children‘s Janet “From Another Planet” Green, who managed to murder Will Cortland while under similar circumstances.)
* When it comes to Trina (Tabyana Ali) and her two fathers, what has become of Taggert (Réal Andrews), who, last we saw, was spiraling into an alcohol-soaked mess?
* Yeah, between Nathan’s pension, his trust fund, and the child support that Spinelli gives her, I’m not believing Maxie (Kirsten Storms) when she cries poor. And on the off, off, off chance that she’s really hurting that badly, wouldn’t it behoove Felicia (Kristina Wagner) to part with some of that Aztec jewelry rather than dip into her and Mac’s (John J. York) retirement portfolio?
