When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.
General Hospital: A Critic’s Week In Review
What follows is a whole bunch of questions I’ve been left with after watching last week’s General Hospital.
Exactly how dumb is Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma)? Surely he knows that one does not develop a bruise mere minutes after being roughly grabbed by the wrist.
What was with that exposition dump imposter Monica Quartermaine put on Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton)? I would have expected her to add that she actually always loved Jeff Webber’s brother Rick and that she once thought he knocked her up. Perhaps General Hospital head honchos Chris and Dan/Dan and Chris wanted to assure me that they do understand what continuity is. (And if that’s the case, I now ask them, why don’t they just adhere to it moving forward?)
When did Jeff finally realize that he was Port Charles’s worst father? Worse than even Sonny “I Shot My Own Son” Corinthos (Maurice Benard). I bet there have been nights that Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) wished that her father thought enough of her to shoot her.
What is it going to take for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) to realize that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) is just the worst?
Boy, Chris and Dan/Dan, and Chris sure made sure that Sydney Mikayla went out with award-worthy material, huh.
Boy, how long is it going to take before hacker extraordinaire Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) clears Trina Robinson’s name; and will it happen before or after Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) think the worst of her?
Will Trina and/or the PCPD be smart enough to test that phone Esme slipped into Trina’s backpack for fingerprints? … Actually, I think I have the answer to that question.
Finally, why oh WHY do Dan and Chris/Chris and Dan insist on inserting Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) into nearly EVERY. SINGLE. GENERAL HOSPITAL STORYLINE?!
Further GH Musings
* I’m not sure what I loved more…Felicia Scorpio’s (Kristina Wagner) OTT performance for the Austrian paper-pusher or Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exacerbated reactions to said OTT performance. Either way, it sure was a hoot!
* Regarding Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard): Why can’t General Hospital let us have nice things?
