General Hospital certainly isn’t at a shortage when it comes to stellar leading ladies. However, there are a few from the show’s past who would definitely spice up the soap and a few storylines. Here’s a list of four standout actresses we’d love to see back on General Hospital.
General Hospital: Rebecca Budig
After depositing Violet (Jophielle Love) into Finn’s (Michael Easton) arms, Hayden vanished from Port Charles, and viewers haven’t seen hide nor hair of her. GH fans have been clamoring for Rebecca Budig’s return to the complex role, and for good reason.
Her portrayal of the crafty con woman, who turned her life around after a brush with death, was always so rich and vivid. Considering the fractured state of Finn’s relationship with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), a visit from her half-sister would shake things up. Plus, Violet would finally be reunited with her mother.
GH: Emme Rylan
Poor Lulu’s been in a coma since 2020, leaving Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) free to move on with Sam (Kelly Monaco). Now that the pair are happily together, it’s time for the one obstacle that could totally derail them to resurface: Lulu.
The soap should bring back Emme Rylan; have Lulu regain consciousness and slowly reclaim her life. Rylan’s fun, fiery take on Lulu made her a heroine to root for. Besides being a legacy character – Luke and Laura’s only daughter – she’s also Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) best friend and has been sorely missed.
General Hospital: Vanessa Marcil
Would an “actresses we’d like to see back on GH” feature be complete without a Vanessa Marcil mention? Absolutely not. Marcil’s Brenda was once a riveting force in Port Charles, the woman in the middle of a fiery Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jax (Ingo Rademacher) triangle.
Sonny’s complicated life and relationship with Nina (Cynthia Watros) would definitely be shaken up if Brenda were to head back to town. Plus, imagine the fireworks between her and Nina and the possibility of Carly (Laura Wright) cheering Brenda on for the very first time.
GH: Haley Erin
If Nina can have a twin daughter she never knew about, why not Ava (Maura West)? Or, perhaps, Hayley Erin, who was absolutely delightful as the late Kiki, could rejoin General Hospital as another character entirely.
It wouldn’t be the first time the soap went that route. Erin is such an engaging actress. She can play bad girl, good girl, and everything in between. Having the chance to see her share scenes with West again would be a true joy. And think of all the other storylines an actress of her caliber could perk up.
