Can Poor Sam Catch a Winter Break on General Hospital?

Sam doesn’t have the best luck in February, especially the last two years when she’s the lady who solves a General Hospital mystery–just as she realizes she’s in a whole heap of trouble.

Last year, fans pretty much had no doubt that Creepy Little Jake (who is suddenly not creepy anymore) was the one terrorizing his own home.

However, it took Sam (Kelly Monaco) to figure it out, just as Jake was ready to run away from home and lose his mind. While he didn’t purposely hurt her, she chased him down the basement stairs and took a fall.

And, we all know what happened from there. Sam remained on Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) basement floor for two weeks (in real time, not sure about Port Charles time) and somehow managed to cause a situation with a space heater that made the whole house blow up just after Jason (Billy Miller) got her out of it.

Now, Sam has cracked the case again–just as she’s in the thick of things–and hugely pregnant.

Yes, it took until Sam was in Liv’s car (just like it took till she was in Liz’s house last year) to have that Sherlock Holmes moment and realize she’s not just sitting with her mother’s AA sponsor.

(Who’s willing to bet the nine-months pregnant Sam is in a pair of stiletto heels as she battles a gun-toting Olivia on the bridge, as the promos show?

Many of us understand short girl complexes, but we still stay out of heels at that point in a pregnancy.)

Last year, it took until Jake was hit by a car (again) and finally awake at the hospital for Jason to realize something was amiss.

That was practically the whole two weeks Sam was down there in that basement. He has the ah-ha moment about Olivia (Tonja Walker) tomorrow, but will he have that same moment about Sam in time?
