General Hospital’s Anna knows what it is like to be manipulated, which should have made her conversation with Britt more complicated. Instead, she dismissed Britt’s explanation and refused to consider that they may have had more in common than she wanted to admit. That raised a bigger question about whether Anna’s past has left her unable to forgive anyone else.

Key Takeaways

  • Anna refused to accept Britt’s claim that she had been manipulated by Sidwell and Cullum.
  • She compared Britt to Cassius and Faison and used Britt’s past against her.
  • Britt argued that she and Anna had both been used by people who knew how to manipulate them.
  • Anna showed little interest in understanding the fear and desperation behind Britt’s choices.
  • Anna now holds others to a standard she cannot meet herself.

Anna Could Not See Past Britt’s Last Name

Anna (Finola Hughes) confronted Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) after learning more about Cassius (Ryan Paevey) and wasted little time challenging her version of events. Britt explained that she had been tricked into believing she was dying and forced to work for Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). She argued that she had been manipulated just as Anna had once been manipulated by the people around Faison (Anders Hove). Anna was not buying it.

Anna did not stop at questioning Britt’s choices. She compared her to Cassius and Faison, reminded her of the woman she used to be, and dismissed the prototype as another selfish act. Britt tried to explain herself, but Anna had already closed the case.

That is what made the scene so striking. Anna has every reason to distrust people connected to Faison, but Britt was asking her to separate who she is now from who she used to be. Anna simply would not cross that bridge, and it left the conversation feeling finished before it ever had a chance.

Is Anna Holding Everyone to Her Standards?

The interesting part is not whether Britt deserved forgiveness. The real question is whether Anna has reached a place where protecting herself matters more than understanding why someone made terrible choices. There is a difference, and the June 16 episode leaned right into it.

Anna has survived betrayal after betrayal, so it makes sense that her guard is always up. Still, Britt was not asking for a free pass. She was asking Anna to recognize that both of them had been used by people who knew exactly which emotional buttons to push. That is a hard argument to dismiss, even if Anna ultimately rejects it.

Maybe Anna is right, and maybe Britt is asking for more forgiveness than she has earned. But if Anna cannot even admit that fear and manipulation played a part, then she is holding Britt to a standard almost no one could meet. That includes Anna herself.
