The Corinthos house has gotten quite a makeover in recent months as we discovered this home actually has a kitchen, meaning we have barely seen the living room.
General Hospital Set Debut
In fact, the last time we remember seeing the living room prominently was during the Wiley reveal when Brad told all about how he ended up with Michael’s baby and Carly talked and talked and talked — a lot.
Most Corinthos scenes have been in their new state-of-the-art kitchen where we learned the family even has a back door where people go in and out without any bodyguards to be seen.
Sonny And Carly At Home
This week, the brand-new Corinthos living room debuted and General Hospital took us behind the scenes for when Executive Producer Frank Valentini introduced the new set to its on-screen inhabitants, Carly and Sonny, aka Laura Wright and Maurice Benard.
Where’s The Moss?
Both commented that the modern decor and set up reminded them of the kitchen and Benard commented this living room could be the kitchen, except it doesn’t have the signature bowl of moss that sits on the kitchen island and often upstages scenes.
Oddly, the staircase to the upper level of the house is significantly smaller than the last staircase, but that didn’t stop Chad Duell from emerging from the supposed upstairs where all those many bedrooms are. (And where silent children Avery and Donna seem to spend most of their time.) Wright and Benard pointed out Michael doesn’t live there anymore, so they weren’t sure why he descended the stairs.
Take a look at the debut yourself in the tweeted video below. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
If there isn’t a wall reveal, does a new set even have a proper debut? @MauriceBenard @lldubs @duelly87 #BehindtheScenes #GH pic.twitter.com/Qwhw8CjErW
