When General Hospital viewers first met Rebecca Herbst’s Elizabeth Webber, she was a bad girl. We knew she was bad because she rolled her eyes. And smoked. Lucky Spencer had no interest in her. He only had eyes for Liz’s big sister, the perfect, poised, perky Sarah Webber.
Rebecca Herbst’s Sitcom Start
We all know how that ended. But we also should have known that Elizabeth was bad news. Before she came to pollute the air of Port Charles, Rebecca Herbst was a semi-regular on the 1995 sitcom, Brotherly Love.
Power Of Three
Joey Lawrence came to prominence on the sitcom Gimme a Break, playing Joey. Then his brother, Matthew Lawrence, joined the cast as Matthew. There was also a third brother, Andrew Lawrence.
When the three Lawrence boys got their own sitcom, they played brothers named Joe, Matt, and Andy (see the difference?). Joe moved in with his stepmother, Claire (Melinda Culea), to help with Matt and Andy after the boys’ father died, and to run the garage he left behind.
Girl Power
Also working at the garage was Louise, played by Liz Vassey, who earlier was the first adult Emily Ann Sago on All My Children. And then there was Kristen (that’s where Rebecca Herbst came in). Kristen went to school with Matt but had a crush on Joe. While Matt had a crush on Kristen.
We knew Kristen was bad because she went to raves, shoplifted, and drank alcohol. And didn’t appreciate Matt’s good boy charms, even when he sang to her. Oh, and she set up Matt with a girl who wanted Matt to get a tattoo!
But Kristen soon learned the error of her way and, like Liz, became spunky and spirited…without needing Claire to bail her out of jail. Which did happen, post the shoplifting. Watch her go from bad to good, long before Liz followed the same route, by clicking here.
