According to the courts of General Hospital (GH), little Avery is better off with her mobster daddy and his enabling wife, then with her mob mama, and her tiny skin bump.
Ava (Maura West) has been busy recently, what with almost dying, then being disfigured, then heading off to Russia for a miracle treatment wherein she found the original Jason (Steve Burton) of Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) dreams. But does all that mean she doesn’t deserve to take her baby girl to see Santa?
Should Avery be spending more time with her real mother? Almost 3,000 wannabe Port Charles social workers offered up their verdict.
Mama Is As Mama Does
Avery barely knows who Ava is, fume 54% of you. Having to suddenly spend time with her would just confuse the tot.
Carly is the main mother she knows, and it should remain that way.
And Carly is a great mom! Her oldest son, Michael (Chad Duell) eventually came out of that coma that being Sonny’s son put him in, didn’t he? And Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) death was totally not Sonny’s fault, no matter how much it may have looked like it.

Plus, there’s the added bonus of hearing how Carly feels about the people they’re dating. Where would Michael and Morgan have been without Carly’s thoughts on Kiki (Hayley Erin), and Sabrina, and Nelle (Chloe Lanier). And… uhm… Ava?
Blood Ties
The only reason that Avery barely knows who Ava is, is because of Sonny and Carly keeping them apart, counter another 45%. Avery has every right to spend time with her real mother, and Ava has every right to want to be with her daughter.
Sonny is all bluster, anyway. Push back and he folds like a cheap chair. Just make sure to keep away from meat-hooks. They’re his favorite way to solve a custody dispute…
