General Hospital Anniversary
General Hospital turns 56 on Monday, April 1, but due to a recent news pre-emption, the show’s anniversary episode will air on Tuesday, April 2 focusing on the memorial for the late Gail Baldwin.
The late Susan Brown played Gail from the late 1970s into the 1990s and appeared often on spinoff series Port Charles. Her last appearance on GH was in 2004 when Gail and Lee (the late Peter Hansen) paid their respects to Lila Quartermaine (the late Anna Lee) at her memorial.
Now, Gail’s being honored in this anniversary show that is bringing back Denise Alexander as Dr. Lesley Webber.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), acting on behalf of Gail, gathers her friends and loved ones to the hospital in honor of this woman who was a rock to the citizens of Port Charles. Gail’s soothing voice and calming presence endeared her to not only the show’s characters but to legions of GH fans.
