An ABC Daytime Reunion Nearly Four Decades In The Making

Back in 1984, newly married Jenny, played by Kim Delaney, was in a jet ski accident on All My Children that devastated fans of the soap opera. Not only did it devastate her husband but also her brother Tad — played by Michael E. Knight. Now she’s back on ABC daytime as Jackie on General Hospital, while he’s Martin — and these two finally got to share a scene!

A Long-Awaited Soap Opera Sibling Reunion

Being that Jackie is a famous reporter, Martin was anxious to get her help in pressuring Jason (Steve Burton) to return his kidnapped mother (even though Carly was the one who took her, which he doesn’t know) but all longtime fans could think was — OMG that’s Tad and Jenny back together! The moment wasn’t lost on the two actors, especially Delaney, who is on Instagram.

“#reunited look who I get to play with again,” enthused the star next to a present-day image of them, adding the following hashtags to let her followers know how she feels about it, “#MichaelEKnight #jenny & #tad @generalhospitalabc #sofun.”

Of course, not everyone caught on to the ABC daytime reunion right away. One person, @gingersparks1961, commented on the picture saying, “OMG!!! How did I not even put 2 & 2 together that Tad & Jenny were both on GH?!? I guess I was just focused on your new characters! GREAT! I am totally geeking out, now!!!”

And that’s certainly understandable — both actors have created (well, in Delaney’s case, recreated) very well defined characters who are completely different from their Pine Valley alter-egos, so it’s understandable that fans may have been so engrossed in who they play now that the moment was lost on them — at first.
