All My Children’s Susan Lucci And Alicia Minshew To Star In Amazon Original

Actresses Susan Lucci and Alicia Minshew, better known to daytime devotees as All My Children mother/daughter duo Erica Kane and Kendall Hart, are set to star in a faith-based, musical program on Amazon Prime.

Daytime Veterans To Headline New Series

According to Newsday, the series, Wholly Broken, based on the same-titled 2018 film written and directed by Tom Humbert, tells the story of Pastor Tim (Humbert), “a recovering alcoholic minister, who is trying to rebuild his life after losing his job and wife.”

Lucci will play a congresswoman, widowed by a drunk driver, whose relationship with her son is strained by years of neglect coupled with his severe addictions and probable undiagnosed bipolar disorder. Meanwhile, Minshew’s character, Kim, is Pastor Tim’s estranged wife.

In addition to Humbert, Lucci, and Minshew, the series cast includes Terri Conn (ex-Katie Peretti, As the World Turns; ex-Christine “Aubrey Wentworth” Karr, One Life to Live), two-time Grammy Award nominee Martha Wash, Lou Martini Jr. (Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Millenniums), Broadway performer Nina Lafarga, and Ryan Hilliard (30 Rock).

Wholly Broken will provide many in the cast the opportunity to show off their singing skills – even Lucci whom many may recall took the Great White Way by storm in 1998 via a remounting of Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun. She, of course, played the eponymous sharpshooter.

The original filmed presentation of Wholly Broken, which also starred Humbert, Minshew, Conn, and the other above mentioned players, is currently available to stream on Amazon.

Production on the series adaption of Wholly Broken is expected to take place between August and October 2021 in and around the picturesque Hamptons. A premiere date has yet to be determined.
