Actor Heath Freeman, Friend of GH’s Kelly Monaco, Dead at 41

Actor Heath Freeman, best known for his roles on Bones and NCIS, has died at the age of 41. At press time, no cause of death had been officially released. The actor, per social media, was good pals with General Hospital star Kelly Monaco.

The news of Freeman’s passing was posted on Instagram by actress Shanna Moakler (Pacific Blue). “Heartbroken to hear of the loss of my dear friend Heath Freeman, talented actor, director, producer, outstanding chef and a solid friend,” Moakler posted. “You will be so dearly missed and I will cherish every amazing memory we all had…. and we have a lot of great ones!!Godspeed. #ataloss.”

Moakler responded in the comments section in her post, after someone inquired about Freeman’s cause of death, he “passed in his sleep yesterday in his home in Austin.” Multiple outlets followed up with news of Freeman’s passing. Monaco’s GH co-star Ingo Rademacher (Jax) shared his condolences on his Instagram story. “Kelly, my heart goes out to you. I know Heath was very special to you. Know that [my wife] Ehiku and I are always here for you. RIP Heath Freeman. Prayers and love.”

Freeman’s Manager Says He Had A ‘Zest’ For Life

“We are truly devastated at the loss of our beloved Heath Freeman,” the actor’s manager, Joe S. Montifiore, shared with Deadline. “A brilliant human being with an intense and soulful spirit, he leaves us with an indelible imprint in our hearts. His life was filled with deep loyalty, affection, and generosity towards his family and friends, and an extraordinary zest for life.

“He was extremely proud of his recent film work and was very excited for the next chapter of his career,” Montifiore added. “His remarkable legacy as a son, brother, uncle, friend, extraordinarily gifted actor and producer, consummate cook, and man with the most infectious and spectacular laugh, will live on forever. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.”

Freeman’s Instagram page has a few photos of himself with Monaco, who has played GH’s Sam McCall since 2003. “Happy birthday to my best friend on the Planet Earth ⚡️⚡️so thrilled we’re on the planet at the same time,” Freeman wrote on the occasion of Monaco’s birthday.
