When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.

General Hospital: A Critic’s Week In Review

It’s so refreshing to hear a character speak the truth – especially if that truth is something we the audience have been shouting at our TV screens for days, weeks, months, and even years on end.

When General Hospital’s Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) asked of morally superior yet completely in the wrong Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), “Can’t you for once think about what I’m going through,” I shook my head yes so hard I think I pulled a muscle.

When Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) told Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), “The real reason you are here, is to absolve your own guilt. It is selfish and it’s self-righteous,” I HOWLED! Of course, minutes later Chase was back to drinking the Corinthos Kool-Aid. I can’t have everything.

And I loved, loved, loved Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) – whom I do love – and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) – whom I don’t – calling Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) on her surely by now patented line of bull where Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is concerned.

Further GH Musings

* Am I the only one still confused by Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) grand plan?

* As wonderful as it is to have Jordan Ashford back on the canvas, would it have killed TPTB at GH to hire an actress of appropriate age? Tanisha Harper is but a mere nine years older than the actor portraying her son…though that does best the three-year age difference between Briana Nicole Henry and Tajh Bellow.

What do you think? Post a comment!

* Does it bother anyone else that we’re supposed to be blindly accepting Roger Howarth as Austin Gatlin-Holt when General Hospital is doing a whole storyline based around the memory of his previous alter-ego, detailed sketch of the actor’s face as the aforementioned character included?

And speaking of Austin…I’m still not digging him with Maxie Jones (Kristen Storms).

* Finally, a Valentine Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) update!

* Given all the times that’s passed, wouldn’t either Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) or Jordan’s lawyer have called and questioned why they never filed their divorce papers? Heck, haven’t Curtis and/or Jordan checked out for themselves whether or not their divorce was finalized?

* Is there cocaine in that pill that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) scarfed down, or has General Hospital head writers Dan and Chris/Chris and Dan forgot what drug she was addicted to in the first place? They have proven time and time again that continuity isn’t their strongest point.

* Why is it that the sight of Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and/or Sam and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) making nice makes me physically ill and/or violent, and yet I find myself hoping against hope that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) can indeed one day host their own book club gatherings?
