When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For a week, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.
General Hospital: A Critic’s Week In Review
Are we slowly but surely gearing up for a “Who Killed Peter August?” mystery? Please tell us that we’re about to get a “Who Killed Peter August?” mystery.
Because over the past few weeks, we’ve had Anna (Finola Hughes) come to her senses where her errant nephew is concerned; we’ve had Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) completely abandon him. And we now have Jason (Steve Burton), Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and Sam (Kelly Monaco) pooling together in a bid to take down the baddie.
Plus, there are outliers like Robert (Tristan Rogers), Liesl (Kathleen Gati), and Maxi (Kirsten Storms) who could very well punch the villain’s ticket. The latter swears left, right, and center that she has a plan to keep Peter (Wes Ramsey) away from her baby…maybe it involves a bullet, or a sharp blade, or a push off something tall. Never ever mess with a mother and her child.
And let’s not forget that there’s a whole estranged family gunning for the man who aired their dirty laundry in a very public manner. Perhaps, Gregory (Gregory Harrison) or Jackie (Kim Delaney) or one of the boys decides to dole out some Old Testament justice.
Or how about Cameron (William Lipton)? Before his inner beast was soothed with song, he was all gung ho about arranging for hell to rain down upon the person responsible for killing Franco (Roger Howarth). And that person was Peter…
We’d also add ol’ Cyrus (Jeff Kober) to our list of possible suspects, but he seems awfully busy with all the whining over his missing mommy and all. Seriously, the dude needs to get a grip. We might understand all the concern if Florence actually cared for him in the least, but we’re pretty sure that she doesn’t even like her son, let alone love him.
Further GH Musings
* Boy, Carly (Laura Wright), and Sonny (Maurice Benard) really are their own worst enemies, huh? She runs off at the mouth and seriously pisses off the one woman who could reunite her with the love of her life; he makes the suggestion that Nina (Cynthia Watros) should punish her rivals by withholding something that they love.
And speaking of this never-ending storyline, can we just point out that moving forward, even if Nina succeeds in revitalizing the town of Nixon Falls or whatever nonsense “Mike” and Phyllis (Joyce Guy) are trying to talk her into, she will never, repeat NEVER, be redeemed for this little stunt of hers.
Sure, Carly really did bring this on herself, and she actually doesn’t deserve anything to go her way, but what Nina is doing is wrong. It’s just really, really wrong.
* On the subject of wrong, let’s talk Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), who is very, very wrong to try and use her baby as a bargaining chip to ensure the family regains the power of ELQ.
It also begs the question, is this totally and utterly Brook Lynn’s idea, or did she have some help from Granny Tracy (Jane Elliot), whom she’s obviously still in frequent contact with? General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
