Adam may not have gotten the handicap accessible kitchen of his dreams on Mom, but he did strengthen his friendship with Tammy – a feat worthy of celebration. Equally in need of feting, is the special milestone in the life of actor William Fichtner.

Happy Birthday, William Fichtner!

And that’s because he was born on November 27, 1956, on Mitchel Air Force Base on Long Island, New York, which means that this talented performer is turning 64 years old today! After gaining both an associate’s and a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice, Fichtner decided to pursue a career in acting.

He chose to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York,  and then Fichtner made his professional debut on As the World Turns. On that soap opera, he played Rod Landry, who was eventually revealed to be Josh Snyder, the biological father of teenager Lily Walsh in a harrowing scene still remembered by many fans.

Subsequently, Fichtner appeared in episodes of A Man Called Hawk (1989), Baywatch (1989), MDs (2002), The West Wing (2004), and Empire Falls (2005). Between 1994 and 1995, Fichtner had a recurring role in the Brett Butler-starring sitcom Grace Under Fire and he also appeared in the made-for-television film High Lonesome: A Father for Charlie (1995).

Fichtner’s first film role was in the 1994 drama Quiz Show. Afterward, he starred in the likes of Virtuosity (1995), Heat (1995), Albino Alligator (1996), Armageddon (1998), The Perfect Storm (200), Drowning Mona (2000), and Crash (2004). The latter picture earned Fichtner a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance.

Under the stage name Bill Fichtner, he voiced the character Ken Rosenberg in the video games Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004). He also voiced characters for other video games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), Disney Infinity (2013), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014), and TV shows like American Dad! (2005).

His other acting credits include the films Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), Traffik (2018), and Finding Steve McQueen (2019), as well as the science-fiction drama series Invasion (2005-2006), the serial drama Prison Break (2006-2009) and the comedy Entourage (2009-2011). But perhaps he is now best known for playing Adam Janikowski opposite Oscar and Emmy winner Allison Janney on the CBS sitcom Mom since 2016.

Fichtner has been married to actress Kymberly Kalil since July 25, 1998. Together the couple has one son, Vangel. He also has another son, Sam, with his first wife, actress Betsy Aidem.

Entertainment Hub would like to wish William Fichtner a very happy birthday and many more.
