The Voice season 13, episode 8 is getting ready for the battle rounds on NBC on Monday.
This is when all four coaches can rely on other musical experts to act as their advisers.
NBC said in a statement that for season 13, Miley Cyrus will work with her 56-year-old dad. Billy Ray Cyrus, her Hannah Montana co-star known for the hit, Achy Breaky Heart, has enjoyed the musicians’ life for a quarter of a century, earning multi-platinum recordings.
Adam Levine is about to get help from newly-engaged singer/actor Joe Jonas. The 28-year-old is lead DNCE vocalist and a former Jonas Brothers pop/rock band member.
Blake Shelton is joined by country superstars Rascal Flatts, a big time trio including Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney. Avid supporters of music education in disadvantaged America, these three talented musicians are tops in their field.
Jennifer Hudson will get assistance from Destiny’s Child founding member Kelly Rowland. The 36-year-old talent has won four Grammy awards and sold more than 40 million records as a solo artist.
NBC explains how the battle rounds fit into The Voice format, saying “…the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet.”
That battle happens “in front of a live audience” after which time “each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest.”
Then, each of the other sitting artists on stage can option to steal “losing artists” but are only allowed “two steals during the battle rounds before their artists will proceed to the knockout rounds.” Brutal!
The Voice airs on NBC on Mondays and Tuesday at 8 p.m., ET.
