Tyler Perry is doing what he can to help his community.

The 49-year-old decided to help Tynesha Evans’ kids after she was shot and killed by her boyfriend in Atlanta on Saturday, March 16.

The suspect, named Othniel Innis, shot the mother of four inside a Wells Fargo bank.

Her daughter, Audrey Turner, then received a phone call from the filmmaker who shared how much he wanted to help her family.

“It was a call I wasn’t even going to answer. I said, ‘Well, let me answer it to see who it is,’” she told a local news station in Atlanta.

“I answered and the person on the other end said, ‘This is Tyler.’ I said, ‘Who?’ He said, ‘This is Tyler.’ I said, ‘Tyler who?’ and he said, ‘Tyler Perry.’”

She continued, “At that point, I just broke down crying.”

The actor paid the families rent and even said he would pay for their mother’s funeral. Not only that, he also vowed to pay her other daughter, Sharadiant Turner’s, tuition at Spelman College.

“I’m going to do what she wanted me to do. She started me on math and now I’m going to get to graduate with a mathematics degree from Spelman College without debt, it means everything,” she shared.

Perry has made a point to help people in need around the Atlanta area. Over Christmas he paid off all the layaway items at different Walmarts around the area. The total cost was around $434,000.
