TV’s Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, Shocks Etsy Owner, Who Thanks Her

Like most of us, Lynda Carter, TV’s iconic Wonder Woman, is doing her part to stay safe and protect others around her during this COVID-19 pandemic. Who knew in doing so, she’d not only have such a strong impact on one woman, but that woman would turn around and touch her right back.

The actress took to her Twitter account to talk about a recent experience she had when buying a new mask — one with a familiar logo on it.

“When I ordered this fabulous Wonder Woman mask on @Etsy, I was surprised and delighted to receive this beautiful, heartfelt letter from Angelina, who runs [the store],” the actress wrote, adding a photo of the Wonder Woman mask and the letter she mentioned.

In the note, the owner of the Etsy store thanked Carter for ordering a mask and for being a major influence on her life.

“On and off screen, you are the woman who inspired me,” she wrote. “I raised two amazing Wonder Women. My youngest (18) is a new marine and air crew (mechanic for helicopters). My other is saving the world one ultrasound at a time.”

Carter was so pleased to get the letter and reminded people how important it is to support small and local businesses at a time like this. “When you #ShopSmall, you make personal connections & build communities,” Carter wrote. “That’s worth every penny.”

Wearing a Wonder Woman mask has been a theme for Carter throughout the pandemic. This summer, the actress posted a photo of another mask that was worn to support a good cause.

“Right now, all of us have a simple but crucial civic duty to wear a mask when going out in public,” Carter said at the time. “Today I’m wearing a Wonder Woman-inspired mask made by Clothe Your Mouth, which donates proceeds to a featured nonprofit. Civic duty + good cause = win/win!”

Carter has also been hyping the new Wonder Woman 1984 movie that comes out this month on HBO MAX, and don’t be surprised if she makes a cameo in the much-anticipated sequel.
