Grey’s Anatomy is a medical drama, yes, but it’s also a show about relationships. From marriages to hookups to everything in between, all the doctors on this show have been through their fair share of romances.
And, like every great romance show, many of these doctors were involved in a love triangle or two. Here are the top six love triangles throughout the 15 seasons!
Meredith/Derek/Addison
No Grey’s Anatomy fan will ever forget the episode where Addison shows up and we all realize Derek’s actually married! They tried to give their marriage another shot during Season 2, but he just couldn’t stop thinking about Meredith. Finally, after much anticipation, Derek finally decided to leave Addison for his one true love, Meredith.
Derek/Meredith/Finn
Derek finally got a taste of his own medicine in Season 2 when Meredith started dating veterinarian Finn Dandridge. Though it was clear Meredith and Finn were never going to last, it was nice to see Derek get jealous for once!
Alex/Izzie/Denny
Alex and Izzie had a very complicated relationship from the start, so Denny’s arrival only made things that much more frustrating. While Izzie was growing closer to Denny, Alex was forced to sit back and be jealous. But, Alex was right there to support Izzie when Denny eventually passed away.

Cristina/Owen/Teddy
Cristina was immediately interested in Owen the second he arrived in Seattle back in Season 5, but it was clear his good friend Teddy also loved him too. But, despite his complicated friendship with Teddy, Owen ultimately decided to pursue a relationship with Cristina.
Mark/Lexie/Jackson
Mark and Lexie had a very intense relationship, but they always let other people get in the way of their love. Jackson and Lexie start dating in Season 7, which was right after Mark welcomed his first child with Callie.
Though Jackson really cared for Lexie, he knew she wasn’t over Mark and ended up breaking up with her right before the plane crash that ended up killing both Lexie and Mark.
DeLuca/Meredith/Link
Though this love triangle didn’t last long, it was fun to see Meredith juggle two hot men for a little while! Link didn’t necessarily put up the best fight, which is why DeLuca ended up winning Meredith’s heart with ease.
