Soap Hub previously revealed whether stricter protocols for the male suitors of The Bachelorette would be called into question after Jenn Tran’s season. Now, it looks like The Golden Bachelorette is also under scrutiny for its own vetting practices. 

The ABC Bachelor franchise is dealing with another scandal involving a restraining order. According to a court filing obtained by People, Gil Ramirez was granted a temporary restraining order against him. The woman who allegedly dated him cited in the court filings: “harassment — emotional.”

The show was informed about Ramirez’s restraining order before filming. It happened between the start of production and after the background check and vetting process. Once again, the dating series wasn’t aware of Ramirez’s past. 

This will already impact Rameriz’s screen time on the show. An insider told Vulture that the show has “already limited” his screen time in light of the “newly confirmed information.” Ramirez’s presence will also be “minimized” in future promotions. At the time of this article, Ramirez is the only contestant with these allegations. 

Devin Strader was another Bachelor franchise contestant with a restraining order against him. Reality Steve broke the news that a temporary restraining order was granted against Strader. His ex-girlfriend accused him of breaking into her apartment and stalking her in 2017. 

Strader was the finalist on The Bachelorette. He ended his engagement with Tran and broke up with her via text before the finale. Strader denied the allegations. He also claimed the restraining order was never granted, even though multiple outlets confirmed the official court documents referencing this.

Most of the men on The Golden Bachelorette promote their time on the show on Instagram. It allows fans to keep up with some of their favorites. Gil Ramirez was on the social media app at one point. His Instagram profile is active. However, he removed all his posts when the news of his temporary restraining order came out.
