Gerry Turner popped up in the trailer of The Golden Bachelorette, surprising fans. They thought they’d never see him again after his failed season. Gerry gave Joan Vassos advice about her search for love for a second time.

Joan Vassos Kickstarts Her Journey

Joan became the first older woman to embark on her quest for love. In the Wednesday, September 18th premiere, she slipped into a champagne-colored evening gown, perfectly fitting the role of the golden bachelorette. Joan greeted 24 suitors who were vying for her heart.

Each of them shared interesting stories about themselves. The new season differed from Gerry Turner’s season as The Golden Bachelor. Most of the women in his season used their sexuality and good looks to get his attention, while Joan’s suitors relied on their unique talents.

This season already has a different vibe from its predecessor. During the two-hour premiere, Joan watched messages from their loved ones. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Of course, the premiere wasn’t without its share of chaos.

The men participated in a friendly game of pickleball, which sent balls flying everywhere. Joan held her own as she ducked in her evening gown. She also made the difficult decision of handing out her first impression rose and the remaining roses. It was so hard that she left in the middle of the rose ceremony.

Gerry Turner’s Surprise Appearance

The Golden Bachelorette trailer gave fans a glimpse into Joan’s season. She’ll go on sexy dates with her suitors and embark on adventures like kissing atop a high building and scuba diving in the ocean.

Joan’s journey to finding love comes with feelings of guilt. She lost her husband, John Vassos, to pancreatic cancer in 2021. The couple was married for 32 years.

She gets help from a familiar face. Gerry Turner shows up to give her advice. He tells her that Mr. Right might not be at the mansion. At first, it sounds like Gerry suggests he’s the one for her. In her interview with Business Insider before the premiere, Joan shared what Gerry told her.

“He said, don’t invest in somebody too early,” she told Business Insider. “There’s a lot of people there, and everybody deserves an equal chance. You don’t know what’s going to come of your original feelings for somebody.”

Gerry also told her not to “waste” her time due to the fast-paced format of the show. Joan appeared on Gerry’s season of The Golden Bachelor last fall. She left in the middle of the season due to a family emergency.

Still, fans wonder whether Gerry wants to pick up where they left off. What are your thoughts on The Golden Bachelorette? Who do you want Joan to end up with? Let us know in the comment section.
