Sterling K. Brown Reveals New Trailer For Critically Acclaimed Film Waves

Sterling K Brown is coming for all the awards! The This Is Us actor just shared the brand-new trailer for his film Waves, which is set to hit theaters this November, and it looks to be the actor’s best role to date.

The 43-year-old shared the trailer on his Instagram page on Tuesday and included the caption, “If you ride the Waves, they can carry you forward. If you fight the Waves…they can take you down. Inevitably in life, we experience a bit of both. #WavesMovie.”

The film, which is directed by Trey Edward Shults, focuses on a family in Florida as they deal with issues many families face — loss, heartbreak, forgiveness, and love. Brown shared the poster for the project earlier this month writing, “This one is special. A journey unlike anything you’ve been on before…& I can’t wait for you to see it!”

He also shared the first trailer on social media in September and included the caption, “Your first glimpse at #Waves, brought to you by @A24. This one is pretty special. As proud as I’ve ever been of anything in my career. Please come check it out.”

Waves first premiered at the Telluride Film Festival back in August and received fabulous reviews. Not only was the film lauded, but Brown’s performance also garnered a lot of praise, with some critics feeling he has a chance at a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.

Though we still have a few months until the Oscars, Waves was just nominated for Best Feature at the Gotham Awards, which recognizes independent films.
