Singer Katy Perry Celebrates A Milestone Birthday

From her Valentine’s Day engagement to actor Orlando Bloom to releasing new music, 2019 has been a big year for singer Katy Perry, but now she has even more reason to celebrate — it’s her 35th birthday!

Perry was born on October 25, 1984, in Santa Barbara, California and was raised by her Pentecostal pastor parents, Mary and Maurice Keith Hudson. Growing up in a very religious home, Perry and her siblings were not allowed to eat Lucky Charms or listen to secular music.

Despite her parents’ rules, Perry discovered pop music through her friends who would share their CDs with her. Perry started singing in her parents’ church and ended up releasing her first album, which happened to be a gospel record called Katy Hudson, in 2001.

Though the record was well received by critics, it did not perform well commercially. Perry kept trying to make a name for herself in the music industry, but her big break didn’t come until 2008 when she released her hit single I Kissed A Girl. That song completely took off and catapulted Perry into absolute stardom.

Since that song’s release, Perry has released four albums, has embarked on a number of worldwide tours, has been a judge on American Idol, performed at the Super Bowl halftime show, and has also been through her fair share of public relationships.

Ah Romance

She married actor Russell Brand in October 2010 after just over a year of dating. However, the couple split after 14 months of marriage. She then moved on with musician John Mayer, but the pair officially called it quits by February 2014.

Perry then fell for actor Orlando Bloom, and though they split for a bit in February 2017, they reconnected in April 2018. The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019 and are gearing up for their nuptials. Entertainment Hub would like to wish Perry a very happy birthday on her special day.
