Selling Sunset Star Chrishell Stause Sets the Record Straight on Breakup

Gleb Savchenko, the pro dancer partner of Chrishell Stause, was still making headlines after he and Stause were voted off Dancing With the Stars. The DWTS veteran announced on social media that he and his wife, Elena Samodanova, a professional dancer, were splitting up after 14 years.

Chrishell Stause Sets the Record Straight

This led to speculation that the two former DWTS dance partners were tangoing off-screen. Stause took to social media, specifically her Instagram Story, to set the record straight and hopefully squash further speculation.

“I am so saddened about the news of Gleb and Elena’s split,” Stause wrote. “It is unfortunate that this has caused rumors to swirl about my personal life. Having gone through a public split [from This Is Us star Justin Hartley] myself, I would not wish this on anyone.

“As you can imagine, the countless hours of training, and dance rehearsals has created a strong supportive friendship, but nothing more,” Stause added. “I wish nothing but the best for both Gleb and Elena during this unfortunate time.”

It wasn’t that long ago that Savchenko and his wife were in happier times. He told ET in the summer of 2018 when the couple was opening a dance studio that the secret to his happy marriage was: “Happy wife, happy life…I’ve been saying it for a very long time! Everybody knows it, but sometimes nobody follows that, but I do! She wanted a dance studio, here you go! You want to go to work and teach kids, here!

“I have the best wife because she’s very supportive,” he added. “She supports what I do, we do the same thing. It’s kind of having the same goals. She has crazy ideas, and I say, ‘Let’s make it happen.’ But she is the one who kind of starts it all.”

While Savchenko and Stause aren’t together, there have been many off-screen romances and marriages involving DWTS participants include pro dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd; pro dancers Emma Slater and Sasha Farber; pro dancer Kym Johnson and Robert Herjavec (Shark Tank); Nikki Bella (WWE Smackdown!) and pro dancer Artem Chigvinstev. Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
