Gellar and Prinze Jr. met on the set of their 1997 movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer. Gellar played the character of Helen Shivers, while Prinze Jr. played Ray Bronson. The pair were friends for many years before they started dating.
Accidental First Date
As mentioned, Gellar and Prinze Jr. got along great as co-stars, but their romantic relationship took a little while to develop. In fact, their first date was a complete accident. They had plans to have dinner with a mutual friend, but that person canceled. Gellar and Prinze Jr. decided to still go out together, and the rest is history!

Though they weren’t a couple on I Know What You Did Last Summer, they were a couple when they starred in the 2002 film Scooby-Doo. Gellar played the character of Daphne Blake, while Prinze Jr. played the character of Fred Jones. They also starred in the sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.
