Shockwaves are making the way through the music world as word spreads that rapper Nipsey Hussle has just died after getting shot in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the rapper was at his clothing store called Marathon Store in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles on Sunday, March 31 when he and two other people were shot.
Though Hussie has tragically passed away, the two other men remain in critical condition.
An EMT tried to save him at the scene of the shooting, but it wasn’t enough to resuscitate him.
Prior to the confirmation of Hussie’s death, the LAPD sent out a tweet regarding the incident.
“At approximately 3:20 pm there was a shooting reported in the area of Slauson Ave and Crenshaw Blvd,” they wrote.
“3 victims were transported to a local hospital where one was pronounced deceased. We have no suspect info at this time and will provide more details as they become available.”
And, just a couple of hours before the shooting, the 33-year-old tweeted about having “enemies.”
“Having strong enemies is a blessing,” he tweeted.
This also comes just a few months after his debut album, “Victory Lap,” was nominated for Best Rap Album and the 2019 Grammy Awards.
It was just last June that rapper XXXTentacion was shot and killed during an apparent robbery in Florida. Police have not revealed a motive in this shooting.
Nipsey Hussle is survived by his two children, Kross Asghedom and Emani Asghedom, and his girlfriend, Lauren London.
Entertainment Hub’s thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family during this difficult time.
